Our People

The Tauranga Community Co-op is run by volunteers. So many of our members give freely of their time to make it run smoothly. We have three main people who spend LOTS of time making sure the co-op works. Introducing:

Natashia Lucas

Natashia & Eve

Natashia moved from Wellington to Tauranga in January of 2016. When she arrived she looked for a co-op similar to the one she’d been part of in Wellington but just couldn’t find one. She was determined to set one up asap, but first she welcomed her second baby in May of 2016. So setting up the co-op had to wait until 2017! And here we are! She is wife to Michael (a very talented software developer), and has two little ones, Eve, who is 2.5 years old and Bethany who is 14 months old. She LOVES good food, is the local chapter leader of the Weston A. Price Foundation and loves jumping off Tauranga Wharf with friends in the middle of winter!

Rebekha Stewart

Rebekha Stewart

Rebekha joined the co-op at one of the very first information evenings we had. She has been a gift to the co-op and our ordering website would be a shambles without her steady and patient work. Rebekha and her family love the sea, hence they live a stones throw from the beach in Papamoa. She is wife to Mathew. who among many other interests, loves surfing. She’s mum to one spunky boy, Jasper who is 3, and the ever-happy Summer who is 7 months old. Rebekha is interested in running, food for health, gardening and travel. If you’re ever wondering about having an item added to the ordering software, Rebekha is your go-to person! She’s a bit of a spreadsheet nerd, she says that she LOVES a good spreadsheet…

Ryan & Laura

Ryan and Laura Saunders own Ryno’s Meat & Eats. Ryan was happy to share one of the rooms on his premises with us as a packing room. He’s a generous person who is always happy to help with random requests like “do you have a broom we could use?!”. He is married to Laura, and they have three beautiful kids, two girls and a boy!

In his spare time he likes to fly his drone around, ride his motorcycle and he plays lawn bowls too!

Ryan’s meat is ethically sourced, NZ grass fed and cut to order. We love supporting his business and hope to continue our symbiotic working relationship for years to come. We love you Ryan!
